TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92 true wireless stereo earbuds review-The Gadgeteer

Comment-I am no longer surprised by the number of wireless earbuds released on the market, at least so far, I am not tired of reviewing them to find the "perfect" ones that meet my needs. Enter TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92 true wireless stereo earbuds. They use a simple semi-in-ear design with a slim charging case. Let's check it.

Taotronics Soundliberty 92 is a product, including a pair of semi-in-ear true wireless earplugs with smart touch control and its own USB-C charging box.

My initial impression of EarFun Air earplugs is that they are very similar to similar products from well-known consumer electronics companies. However, TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92 earplugs seem to have some features that allow me to evaluate them without comparing them with similar products.

Remove the earplugs from the charging case, the first thing I noticed is that they are very simple and lightweight, but this does not detract from the seemingly high-quality look and feel. These earplugs are semi-in-ear and can be "hanged" on the wearer's ears. This is the first time I have experienced this type of earplugs.

The earplugs can of course be used together, but they can also be used separately if needed. They have a high-gloss finish and a miniature LED indicator on each side. Each earbud also has a diamond-shaped touch to control various functions.

The top of the earplugs that house the speakers has a contoured shape to help them fit the wearer's ear canal.

Unlike many other wireless earplugs, TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92 earplugs do not include interchangeable earplugs of various sizes. You can choose the earplug that best fits the wearer's ears. On the contrary, because they are semi-in-ear, they rely on their "hook" shape to fix them in the shape of the notch at the bottom of the wearer's outer ear. There are two small brass rings at the bottom of each earplug. When they sit in the charging case, they are the contacts for charging them. There is a small hole for the earphone microphone between each charging contact, which can answer calls or voice commands through the smart phone.

I really like the shape and shape of the matte black charging case of TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92 earplugs. This is a very simple and stylish design, with only a golden TaoTronics logo and a tiny LED indicator on the front.

The charging case of wireless earbuds is getting smaller and smaller, and the charging case of TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92 is the smallest and most compact charging case of a pair of true wireless earbuds I have reviewed so far.

The charging cases are very thin, actually only about 7/8 inches (20 mm), which makes them very easy to put in the pockets of pants, shirts or jackets.

There is a USB-C charging port at the bottom of the charging box.

The charging case contains a 6-inch long USB-C charging cable. When charging, the small LED indicator will flash from time to time, and then remain on when the charging case is fully charged.

Opening the lid of the charging case for the first time will put the earbuds into pairing mode, as indicated by the micro LED flashing alternately in blue and white.

Closing the cover of the charging case with earplugs is to automatically start charging the earplugs. This worked for a while, but after about a month, the left earbud stopped charging. I only noticed this. When I heard the voice prompt "low battery" a few minutes after removing the left earbud from the case, it indicated that the left earbud Only about 10 minutes of battery power remain, and the right earbud is fully charged. Sometimes I can swing the earbuds slightly inside the case to charge them, but this doesn't always work.

Pairing TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92 earbuds is as simple as opening the charging case cover. Enter the Bluetooth settings of my iPhone XR, and then select "TAOTRONICS SoundLiberty 92" from the "My Devices" list, and you are done. Every time the cover of the shell is opened, the earplugs will automatically turn on and connect with the user's mobile phone. They did this for a while, but about a month later, the one on the left stopped turning on and auto-pairing. I had to manually turn off one or both of the left ones and then turn them on again to force them to pair with my phone again.

In the photo above, you can see the diamond-shaped touch controls and the micro LEDs on each earbud to indicate when a Bluetooth connection is established. (You will also see that the high-gloss finish of the earbuds will attract fingerprints.) The touch list is as follows:

The charging case has a small oval button to reset the pairing of the earbuds when necessary.

Although it is difficult to see, the photo above shows tiny charging contacts located at the bottom where the earbuds are placed in the charging case.

The photo above illustrates how TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92 earplugs fit my ears. With a semi-in-ear design, they "hang" in the groove at the bottom of my ear, basically hanging there. I quickly discovered that this is not my favorite style of earplugs for two reasons. The first reason is because they fit or don't fit-they hardly stay in my ears. If I hit them a little bit, they will fall off. I can exercise a little bit, but if I sweat (I do sweat), they will slip out. They were even blown down by the strong wind. When I was sitting at my desk and working, they stayed well in my ears. The second reason is that I prefer a tighter fit to block ambient sound at least to a certain extent-these earplugs do not block ambient sound in any way, but they are specifically designed for this, which may be yours Preference. Although their sound quality is good, with sharp treble and fairly deep bass (especially considering the size of these earbuds), the absence of any environmental noise blocking is detrimental to my listening experience.

The effective range of the earbuds is 50 feet (15 meters) from your phone. Based on my limited assessment, this seems to be accurate unless a wall or other object blocks it

I was initially very happy to try TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92 true wireless stereo earbuds. They looked promising, and I really liked them at first. The earplugs themselves are slim and lightweight, but due to the semi-in-ear "hook" design, they don't stay in my ears well. Their charging case is slim and easy to put in a pocket. However, after about a month, the left earbud started to fail to charge in the charging case from time to time, and lost connection with my phone, which required turning off the power and turning it on again. If I suspect that these problems are not common in TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92 true wireless stereo earbuds, then they are worth seeing as a pair of sturdy semi-in-ear true wireless earbuds, which can legally make Apple Airpods run for their money and display. At a lower price.

I bought these and the right earbud stopped working on the second or third day of having them. They sent a replacement and it started working again before it arrived (I don't know why). I contacted Taotronics and tried to return the replacement part, but they said to keep it... Now the same thing happened to the replacement part (this time it initially worked fine but stopped working the next day). The right earbud does not work. I have tried all troubleshooting techniques, but nothing worked (they are fully charged and I have reset them to factory settings many times). This is confusing and frustrating. I can't find any other posts mentioning this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated! ! ! !

The same thing happened to me today...there is no match on the right side. Only the left side is working and paired. The right side keeps flashing blue and white light

Hi! Try to disconnect and completely remove them from all devices, then let them (and the charging case) completely drain the battery. After the battery is dead, please charge it again, and then reconnect it to a device. I think the problem occurs because I have connected it to multiple devices. I only link it to my phone now. If you want to link it to another device, you should completely remove it from the previous device before linking it to any other device! Hope it helps! Stay safe and be careful!

I have also experienced that one of the earbuds did not charge in the charging case for some reason, especially the correct one. Found any fix?

I have had these for about 3 months, and the right earbuds are not charging and have the same problem. I also ran into a big problem, they randomly connected to my phone during the call, even though their situation was like this, it was maddening, because I really would suddenly realize it during a conversation that lasted for a while Already connected to earplugs which of course are not in my ears. I have to switch back to the phone so that I can continue the conversation (and apologize and explain what happened). The sound quality of these is great, but the technical issues are basically deal breakers, so I will go back to Apple AirPods (it works perfectly because they should cost nearly $200)

Great comment. So far, my Chinese luck is pretty good. My job is very good. In the compact charging case, the sound quality is excellent and easy to use. They look good too.

I like the fit outside the ear canal because it feels better for me, and I live in a very dangerous city, so I like to pay attention to the surrounding environment.

I only use them for podcasts and music. They are perfect for my needs. Hope this helps you make a decision.
