Boulder City High School athletes are now running on one of the nine tracks installed by the sports surface contractor Hellas Construction in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas. Hellas won the county's official bid on June 24 and started construction within the same hour, completing the project in a record ten weeks.

Bob Allison, vice president of Hellas Track Operations, said: "One hour after we were awarded the contract, we had ground crews." "Since we hired 12 fully equipped track crews and owned all our equipment, time The frame is controllable, so you can get in and out quickly."

The Sport Tracks 200® system provides energy return to the surface, providing athletes with an excellent biomechanical response, while forming an elastic and wear-resistant surface that is resistant to UV degradation, abrasion, shrinkage, mold, oil and chemicals. The system adds several layers of red EPDM rubber and structural spray coatings to improve durability and protection.

The new track is also recyclable and has environmental advantages. “For the nine tracks in Clark County, we used nearly 1 million pounds of recycled SBR rubber, which is equivalent to more than 11,526 recycled truck tires,” Alison said. The use of recycled tires significantly reduces the number of landfills each year. Rubber made from tyre fragments and bales is also a cleaner and more efficient product.

Hellas is a national sports construction company headquartered in Austin, Texas, with offices in Atlanta, San Diego, and Salt Lake City. It is worth noting that Hellas, a supplier of synthetic turf for the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, recently installed a track for the University of Georgia, as well as two Usain Bolt-approved tracks in the Diocese of Desoto, Louisiana.

According to IV Mikell Dale, the facility modernization coordinator of the Clark County School District Facilities Department, in late June, the school district chose Hellas to replace the existing latex track system. Dell said that after demolishing the old surface, some unforeseen on-site challenges were discovered in some schools. "Hellas resolved these issues immediately and ensured that the work was done correctly."

The Clark County School District is the fifth university district in the United States. It has won multiple awards for its 2010-2011 comprehensive annual budget report, including the Excellent Budget Award from the Association of International School Business Officials (ASBO).
