Boulder City High School athletes are now running on one of the nine tracks installed by the sports surface contractor Hellas Construction in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas. Hellas won the county's official bid on June 24 and started construction within the same hour, completing the project in a record ten weeks.

The new track is also recyclable and has environmental advantages. “For the nine tracks in Clark County, we used nearly 1 million pounds of recycled SBR rubber, which is equivalent to more than 11,526 recycled truck tires,” Alison said. The use of recycled tires significantly reduces the number of landfills each year. Rubber made from tyre fragments and bales is also a cleaner and more efficient product.
