Houghton — Devin Austin, Collin Risk, and Chas Sundquist of Falconer/Maple Grove/Cassadaga Valley/Frewsburg/Randolph, and Ledreth Velez-Olmo and Matt Linder of Fredonia/Westfield all won first place on Houghton College’s season opening indoor circuit Kerr-Pegula Field House on Saturday.

Austin won the high jump (6-1) and triple jump (42-3), second in the long jump (19-10.75); Risk won the 55-meter sprint (6.96), and Sundquist won the weight throw (26-11).

Velez-Olmo won 300 meters with a qualifying time of 38.08, and Linde won the first long jump with a qualifying distance of 19-10.75.

Salamanca's Jillian Rea won the shot put in the Warriors' first ever indoor game with a score of 28-3.5.

Kaden Dove of F/MG/CV/F/R ranked second in the shot put competition (31-6), Zayne Cline was second in the 55-meter hurdle (10.28) and Rylee Gore was second in the 600-meter hurdle (1: 57.91).

Velez-Olmo ranked second in 55 meters (7.1), and teammate Gigi Ferro ranked second in the high jump (4-6).

The third place of F/MG/CV/F/R was placed by Jacob Constantino in 300 meters (39.27), 600 meters (1:39.88), Juventus Diaz (3:04.89), Juventus Nal Diaz (3:04.89), ), Joe Klenzer (4:59.12) in the 1600 meters, Klein in the high jump (4-10) and Corinna Inckley in the long jump (13-9).

For Fredonia/Westfield, Lenieth Velez-Olmo ranked third in the 55-meter hurdle (10.57).

"It's great to restart after disappearing last year. Whether as a team or as individuals, we really need to have a meeting under our belt," Fredonia/Westfield coach Tom Stowe X said. "These early meetings are always a good measure of where we are and what we need to do. The children performed well and the game was good. Hope everyone can continue to improve throughout the season."

The fourth place Fredonia/Westfield 800m relay team was Ledreth Velez-Olmo, Owen Casserta, Lenieth Velez-Olmo and Carson Kuzdal. Their score was 1:48.32 and Ashlynn Ambrose completed 600. Mi (2:02.28) and Katherine Fortna's triple jump (25-7).

Lind was fifth in the 300 meters (39.95), Clayton Fraser was fifth in the long jump (15-8.5); Kuzdal was sixth in the 55 meters hurdles (11.04), and Abby Lauer Ranked sixth in the high jump (4-4), Gigi Gullo ranked sixth in the shot put competition (22-5.5); Frazier ranked seventh in the 600m (1:47), Mariella Russo ranked seventh in the high jump (4-2); Matt Brown at 600 meters (1:48) and Haley Zadzilka at 1,500 meters (6:14.91) finished Nine.

Salamanca’s other finishers were Myra Breazeale, who finished fourth (20-4) and fifth (22-9.5) in throwing; Harley Brown, Ryanna Brady, Sierra Haynoski and Aliya Lee’s 1600-meter relay team, they Ranked sixth in 5 minutes and 19 seconds; Rae ranked seventh in weightlifting (18-2.5); Brown ranked seventh in the 55-meter hurdle (11.79); Summer Downey ranked seventh in the 55-meter (9.0); Brady's results in the 1500 meters and 3000 meters were 6:17.33 and 13:17.36 respectively, ranking eighth.
