A team of sports venue leaders announced a vision for a new Folsom sports and entertainment venue that they said could create jobs and an economic boost.

The proposal is titled, "The Folsom Ranch Project."

"This announcement is three years in the making and 15 years in our minds," read part of the online announcement posted Thursday.

The projected 120,000-square-foot facility would include an ice rink, turf field and 2,500-seat arena.

The venue could also host live music, according to the announcement.

If built, the announcement said the venue could attract 1.3 million guests per year, create 449 full-time jobs and generate $888,000 in annual tax revenue in the city of Folsom.

"Our experience in the industry and our roots in this region are important, but pale in comparison to the importance of what your experience will be in this venue," read a description of the team behind this proposal.

The team includes Darrin Gross, Executive Vice President; Joe Wagoner, Manager & CEO; Matt Re, Legal Counsel; Laura Storm, Member & Executive Vice President.

"Collectively, our team has over 100 years of sports, entertainment and recreation experience. Members of our team have played leading roles in the opening of Raley Field...Golden 1 Center, as well as co-founding Sacramento Republic FC," read the statement.

The announcement did not include information on when the projected could be built or opened.
