Roger Federer together with Team Europe and Team World brought "magic" to Laver Cup's black carpet ahead of the starting day of the event. Both teams suited up and posed in group photos to immortalize precious moments.

Laver Cup posted some group photos on their Instagram account. "Black (carpet) magic," LC captioned the photos. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Laver Cup (@lavercup)

On the same night, Roger Federer clashed with Team World's Diego Schwartzman in a match of ping pong, or table tennis if you prefer, before the start of the Laver Cup.

Both players mimed the breathing techniques they use on the tennis court. Federer released a video of the moment on his Instagram account. "Just a quick warmup for the Gala," Federer captioned the video. "I haven't taught my kids to play cards yet, but they're already doing pretty well at Uno. During the pandemic, I spent two whole weeks with them building Harry Potter's castle with Legos. Then we set up a mini ping pong table and enjoyed playing together."

Iga Swiatek, the world number one, had a simple but wonderful reaction to witnessing Roger Federer on the same court as Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. Federer, Djokovic, and Murray all arrived in London this week for the Laver Cup.

Federer, a 20-time Grand Slam champion, announced his retirement following the Laver Cup. Federer will be colleagues with Djokovic, Murray, and Rafael Nadal on Team Europe. Swiatek described the experience as "inspiring" on Twitter.

The Polish Grand Slam winner also paid a tribute to Federer. "I just want to thank you for everything you've done and everything you are for our sport. It's been a privilege to witness your career. I wish you all the best (goat emoji)," Swiatek tweeted.
