The Tokyo Olympics will begin this week. Although NBC will focus on international stars such as gymnast Simone Biles and swimmer Katie Ledecky, nearly two dozen New Jersey athletes will compete in the highest level of the US team.

Some people will expect to win a gold medal. Others hope to end years of training with their best performance. All of them will be inspiring in their own way-and, after a year of delay due to the pandemic, this is a welcome sign that the world is returning to a certain level of normality.
